Idaho State University Cosmetology is hosting its Spring Extravaganza Competition and Fashion Show on May 1 at the ISU Student Union Ballroom for anyone interested in fashion, make-up, and stylized hair. Doors will open at 6:30 pm with the event running from 7pm till 10pm. Tickets are $5 and all proceeds will go to charity.

This event draws students from all over the state of Idaho to compete against other cosmetology schools on designing hairstyles, fashion, and make-up. Students choose their model and which category they wish to compete in—and the categories really make it fun! With things like formal, braiding, famous couples, avant-garde, fantasy, and more...there's something for everyone at this event! There is even a “GO GREEN” category, in which any licensed stylist, cosmetology instructor, or student can create a style with nothing but recyclable or “green” items. To say things get creative would be an understatement.

In previous years there have been women styled up as woodland fawns with branches twined in their tresses, wiry-haired Medusas, men with sleek, slicked back hair and girls with fluffy locks reminiscent of Marilyn Monroe. Join us to see what the stylists come up with this year! And see who will take home the trophies and prizes.
