Many of us have seen the purple “Kind Community” signs all over town. This time of year they pop up on street corners and banners throughout the community. For those of you unfamiliar with Kind Week, you’re in luck! This blog aims to get you in the know.
Kind Community is a grassroots, non-profit, community-wide movement to spread kindness throughout Pocatello. Founded by friends Courtney Fisher, Billie Johnson, and Rainbow Maldonado in 2014, Kind Community has hosted an annual Kind Week each fall since 2015. The movement has grown to include a student-led club on ISU’s Pocatello campus.
Kind Week Activities this year include the kickoff celebration, a free day at Zoo Idaho, the annual Community Conversations, the Kind Kid/Kind Organization or Individual awards, and the Tee It Up For Kindness event.
