Over the last couple years the FDA has been doing research into the chemicals involved in sunscreen. They have encouraged the use of sunscreen while research is being conducted because ultimately sun related problems are still a much higher risk than anything that they are looking into. However, there are multiple chemicals in sunscreen that have shown results indicating that they may be harmful.
